2000ML proton exchange membrane PEM electrolyzer
Proton exchange membrance (PEM) electrolyzer is an important technology for the production of hydrogen to be used as an energy carrier. With fast dynamic response times, large operational ranges and high efficiencies, water electrolysis is a promising technology for energy storage coupled with renewable energy sources.
The electrolytic cell is the core unit of hydrogen production equipment, PEM electrolyzers utilize Proton Exchange Membrane as solid electrolyte to split water. In this process, water molecules undergo oxidation reactions on the anode side, losing electrons and generating oxygen and protons (H+). Subsequently, protons are conducted through the proton exchange membrane to the cathode side under the action of an electric field, while electrons flow from the anode to the cathode through an external circuit. On the cathode side, protons combine with electrons to undergo a reduction reaction, generating hydrogen gas. In this way, the PEM electrolysis cell completes the process of decomposing water into hydrogen and oxygen.
Hycircle Technology Co.,Ltd supplies PEM electrolyzer series products combined with renewable energy emits only oxygen as a by-product without any carbon emissions, which have excellent properties such as passivation resistance and corrosion resistance.
The following reactions take place within it:
• Anode: 2H2O → 4H+ + O2 + 4e-
• Cathode: 4H+ + 4e- → 2H2
• Complete Reaction: 2H2O → 2H2 + O2
Advantages:
High purity of hydrogen
High efficiency of hydrogen production
low noise
No corrosion and pollution
regulation of output
technical security
Applications:
Electricity and gas (natural gas replacement)
Green hydrogen (agricultural decarbonization)
Hydrogenation station (fuel infrastructure for hydrogen-powered vehicles)
Electronic fuel (hydrogen production + carbon capture)
Distributed energy (field for hydrogen production and hydrogenation)
Industrial field (chemical production, petroleum refining)
