The anion exchange membrane of the AEM electrolyzer facilitates the passage of negatively charged hydroxyl ions (OH-) while blocking positively charged ions (H+). The confined protons (H+) bind on the cathode side to form green hydrogen, while the hydroxyl ions (OH-) on the anode side produce water and oxygen.The advantages of water electrolysis surpass those of conventional proton exchange membrane (PEM) and alkaline electrolysis technologies.
Of all water electrolysis methods, AEM electrolyzer, combined with AWE and PEM electrolysis, has the following advantages:
